PC freezing & failing to reboot. Serious Malware/Trojan/Spyware...symptons as listed.

My Computer:

Dell Dimension 5150
Windows XP
Media Centre Edition
Service Pack 2

What Happened:

I downloaded one of those softwares that records video streaming on your computer screen and I know that when I installed it, the virus started.

Now i struggle to get my computer to work. I works very slowly and freezes -But works betterif I unplug the internet network cable.

Main Symptons:

much slower processing speed

on internet; pop-ups and computer freezing – always soon after on internet

sometimes freezes on welcome blue screen after reboot and sometimes as soon as I enter desktop – often the start menu bar doesn’t quite load

it seemed to have removed my Norton firewall

error messages referring to failure of google installer

cant run several antivirus installers (.exe)- crashes …this includes
“Spybot-search and destroy”, “Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware” and “Spyware Doctor”

after scanning with “AVL” found and removed virus: “downloader.zlob”

after running “Ad-Aware” scan – blue screen appeared stating with
the error 0x0000008e

Any suggestions?
