imon.dll
Hi, the other day while I was randomly surfing the web.. I came upon a topsite - top100 sort of thing.. and when I went to a website.. well it wasn't as advertised.. it was a download free spyware scanner...
everyone w/ the right common sense.. would realize it was ********. I realized, but it had downloaded something w/o my consent... don't know what, but ever once in a while.. the UAC and other background programs stop working.. w/ the windows error detaisl.. it says.. Fault Module Name: imon.dll Problem Event Name: APPCRASH Application Name: svchost.exe_ProfSvc so the cause of this crap is imon.dll.. Did a bit of research on the file.. and so it's a security threat and NOD32 can't really detect it.. Should I delete it? Or is there another way around this problem? Thank you!

Re: imon.dll
imon.dll is part of Eset/NOD32. It's the Internet Monitor module.
Don't delete it. It should be in \system32 with similar information on the version tab NOD32 IMON - Internet scanning support

Re: imon.dll
Not sure...NOD32/Eset are paid apps, with customer support. You might try them.
From your description, it sounds as though the machine is infected. If you think your computer is infected.... If you don't think the machine is infected, the folks over in the Windows Vista section might be able to help you figure it out, if Eset customer support can't. There's also a dedicated ESET support forum at Wilders http://www.wilderssecurity.com/forumdisplay.php?f=15

Re: imon.dll
I'll do that, now ICS (internet Connection sharing) has stopped working.. also caused by imon.dll the application was, svchost.exe_SharedAccess it's alway svchost.exe and than the type of program which in this case was sharedAcess.
I don't have any recently installed programs.. So I'm just gonna go ahead and say my computer is infected, and it got to imon.dll or something. |

Re: imon.dll
I figured out the problem it was the paradox hack that I had to activate my Ultimate editon of vista.. after the update to SP1, windows decided to play games w/ the piracy user.. but I later obtained an even better hack that tells Microsoft that my computer was purchased from Dell.
:o I love piracy :P Thank you guys anyway.. |
