desperately need help - antivirus can't be installed

Hi,

I really need help with this problem I'm having on my laptop.
I had AVG antivirus and on one point it stopped working. it said "Application cannot run due to an error while verifying its electronic certification". The error message appear at startup, and everytime I try to run AVG control panel.
I try to restore my system to a point where I thought the problem hadn't appear, but it didn't work.
I then uninstalled AVG antivirus, and try to reinstall it, but everytime I click on the setup program, my computer restarted by itself (sometimes it shows blue screen with a bunch of error message, can't remember because it was gone in a flash and the computer restarted).
I try installing other antivirus (avast, avira antivir, etc), but the same problem appears, as if the computer is preventing me from installing an antivirus software (I say this because I have no problem installing other software).
I was frustrated and took a desperate step - formatting my laptop. I now have a fresh installed winXP.
It turns out that even this cannot solve my problem, I still cannot intall any antivirus software.

Can anyone help me?

Have you reloaded any other files from backup after the xp reinstall
