Remote Support

Hello,

I hear quite a lot about remote computer support services. I would like to know how secured is one's computer after availing such service and how useful is the service. Is the amount one pays worth the service?

if its reputable, then you should have no problems at all.

just like any computer support it depends upon the service and the problem.

it depends upon the amount, the problem, and how lazy you are

You asked a very general question so there is really no way to give specific answers. If you are looking at a specific service then maybe post the name of it. Generally speaking remote services is really no different than taking your computer to a local shop. They both will have access to all the info on your computer.

Re: Remote Support

One difference with remote access service is, if you sit at the machine while the service is being performed, you can terminate the access at any time, whereas when the machine is in the shop, you cannot.

Re: Remote Support

One problem i found recently when using symantec remote support, when they tell you everything is done and you need to reboot, it is useful to have another computer standing by to get online again to find out why your computer will no longer boot.
