Computer just starts playing audio clips
I have a problem similar to the one in this thread. I know I picked up a virus and have run several different programs such as Spybot, AVG and MicroTrends free online scan. According to them, all the problems have been found and eliminated although I feel certain changes to my registry were part of the problem.
In any case, about 30 minutes to an hour after I start my PC, it will just randomly start playing an audio clip. Some have sounded like Sienfedl (was never a big fan of the show so don't recognize all the episodes) while others have been music and one was Bloomberg News. They run for a few minutes or longer. Someone on the other thread had mentioned a couple of files that were their problem but neither of those are present on my PC. Another problem I am also having is that when I try to do a search on Yahoo or Google on IE, the results come up fine but when I click a link, it opens a new window and takes me to a site that is not at all related to the search results. Usually it is a commercial site. Fortunately, so far, none have been porn sites. Any help would be greatly appreciated. |
