mspformat Question
Hello, I'm not sure this is a security issue, but here's what happened. A teenager spent a day at my house using the computer, I thought for homework. After he left, the next day I noticed a MSP Format folder on my desktop, and that my sound wasn't working. I kept getting a popup that said "new hardware was detected. Continue installation" or something like that. I didn't, but the next time noticed that it was a Multimedia Audio Controller. My programs and the internet were loading slowly. I noticed in the History file for IE, that this young man had been visiting hacking websites.
I ran my updated TrendMicro Anti-virus and spyware program and nothing was found. Also I downloaded the security update for Windows XP. What is the mspformat, and can I delete it? Also should I go ahead and load this multimedia audio controller? ![]() Thanks, G |

Re: mspformat Question
It might be the file used in during the process of making Pandora batteries for the PSP.
I know there is a file that is used in that process. That's probably why it's not showing up as a virus or spyware. I'm assuming you are on an XP maching cause i know this file doesn't run well on Vista. Wish i knew more to offer more help but i just remember that from when i got my PSP modded. Good Luck. |
