Exclamation Any Advice...

I'm posting on behalf of my boyfriend who can't access anything on his laptop atm as his firefox and IE keep crashing. He just installed AVG and ran a complete scan which found several things and removed them all but since rebooting he still can't use Firefox or IE and keeps getting this pop up whenever he tries:

'ATTENTION! If your computer is struck by the virus, you could suffer data loss, erratic PC behaviour, PC freezes and creahes.

Detect and remove viruses before they damage your computer!
Antivirus 2009 will perform a 100% FREE and quick scan of your computer for Viruses, Spyware and Adware.

Do you want to install Antivirus 2009 to scan your computer for malware now? (Recommended)'

when he tries to close it it automatically goes to that page and wont let him leave unless he downloads it!! He had to close it via the task manager to get out. His laptop is being very slow and some programs wont work and close down if he tries to use them.

His laptop is more or less brand new, he's only had it about a month. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Re: Any Advice...

Hello and welcome to TSF

Sounds like he has some malware issues. Please read this sticky:

http://www.techsupportforum.com/secu...oval-help.html

After running through all the steps, please post the requested logs in the HijackThis Log Help forum, not here.

If you have trouble with one of the steps, simply move on to the next one, and make note of it in your reply.

Please note that the HijackThis Log Help forum is extremely busy, and it may take a while to receive a reply
