Re: Anti virus programme!
I highly do not recommend going without an Anti-Virus program.
AVG does work with Media Center, as it's currently on my upstairs PC. This makes me start to wonder, is this a legit copy of Windows? |

Re: Anti virus programme!
You need SP2 at least, connect to Windows update (use the shortcut in the start menu) and install all the critical updates for your system. Having an antivirus is one thing but you must keep Windows updated to prevent security flaws. Enable XP's integrated firewall once SP2 is installed, you shouldn't connect to the internet with no firewall.
AVG should run on XP MCE SP2 since it runs on XP Home SP2 and XP Pro SP2 : http://www.grisoft.com/ww.special-old-os-app (won't run on SP1 or lower) I'll move this thread to the security section where you'll have better help. Last edited by justpassingby; 09-11-2008 at 06:49 PM. |

Re: Anti virus programme for Windows MCE ! [Moved from XP]
My upstairs PC has MCE . . . It is perfectly fine. I think people are warning you about SP3, not SP2. . .
Here is a download link for SP2. . http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en |
