cant download anti virus
my anti virus protection has expired. I'm trying to download a new anti virus but my PC keeps telling me that my security setting wont allow it. Please tell me what to do. I need to know how can i change that?

Firstly, could you tell us what you are trying to download and what protection you have presently installed ? If I had to hazzard a guess I would say that it sounds like your Firewall, at its present setting, are the problem.
Try disabling firewall and downloading program. Anything happen ? |

actually, i think it's best that you came here before installing another AV. the best thing for you to do right now is remove the entire AV you have now (the one that just expired). what AV is that? after that is done, you may need to temporarily disable real-time malware protection (likely spyware), and possibly firewall as well. there is a slim chance that activex settings may also need to be temporarily changed, but go with the other options first. you may, as a precautionary measure, want to run belarc advisor, just to be sure that you have no AV running, which is probably the case, but just to be sure. |
