AVG8.o won't update after installation
Hi:
I installed AVG8.0 and tried to update the virus database. All attempts to do so failed. Had no other active anti-virus, but an anti-spyware called Malwarebytes AntiMalware though. Used to run AVG7.5 (and now missing it  )Could that be the reason?Any help will be appreciated. bedubeu |

Does it say it doesn't connect? I had a problem with my AV. I had a proxy which was interfering with it.

if you use zone alarm, you may need to update zone alarm.
you could also consider uninstalling/reinstalling AVG, and if that doesn't help, temporarily disabling whatever firewall you have, just for diagnosis. that version of malwarebytes doesn't run real-time, so there shouldn't be any problem caused by it. edit: i meant zone alarm free firewall, not their antivirus.
