Browser keeps resetting...Help! Newbie here.

I am not very computer savvy. I have Windows XP on my laptop...use Comcast high speed as my service...My browser keeps resetting to some ad yield manager (I have a Gateway laptop and it takes me to a "Gateway search page)....

McAffee is my security center that I run.

I have just downloaded and run Ad-Aware with the latest updates.

Also have downloaded and run Spybot Seach & Destroy.

Keeps happening though....any thoughts? Help!

If you cannot reset your chosen home page or start page via Internet Explorer> Tools > Internet Options > General tab

It's possible you have an infection.

Try the above first.

It resets and is fine for the rest of the time I am on-line, but then when I boot it up later in the evening or the next day it happens again.

Have no idea what to do now.
