I would like to learn how to disinfect computers

I'm not necessarily trying to become an Analyst on this website per say, though I'd do it if I was experienced enough, but I really want to learn how to help others clean their computers thouroughly using the HiJackThis scanner. Can someone point me in the right direction to learning how to use this software to help people identify and remove malware from their computer? It appears that "The Academy" does not accept new people. I'm in highschool on summer break with tons of time and would be able to learn a lot at a fast pace, so yeah...any advice is welcome, and my fault if this isn't the appropriate forum I couldn't find anywhere else that this seemed to fit into.

Hi

To work as an Analyst at any Forum you need to qualify via one of the many schools. Ours is simply not accepting any new trainees at the moment, although we will re-open the Academy after the summer holidays.

However, there are other schools such as www.bleepingcomputer.com or www.geekstogo.com if you are interested.

Hi matto -

It's good to see your interest, however....

I would add to what Glaswegian has said.....

This is not typically something which can be accomplished over a summer break. It can take several months from start to graduation, the time where one can interact with users on a live board. Six months and longer is not unusual. Since much time is invested on both the part of the student and the part of the school, it's important to think clearly about the long term goals.
