Problems with AVG 8.0
I have successfully run AVG 7.5 on my laptop (Operating system is Vista), last night I removed it and downloaded AVG 8.0 and now I can't get any webpage up! Is there something in the settigns that I have to change? It's connected wirelessly to the internet and there are no problems with the connection so it's something that's stopping me viewing websites, any ideas?
Cheers sam |

Re: Problems with AVG 8.0
Are you running the Windows firewall as well? I believe that AVG 8 now encompasses a firewall of sorts as well. I know that I have run into issues with other 'firewalls' messing up when Windoze FW is running as well.

Re: Problems with AVG 8.0
Try uninstalling AVG 8 and see if that makes any difference,.. if all returns to normal then it's a sure thing that a conflict problem is being caused by AVG 8. You can either opt for an alternate antivirus program or do what I do,.. get rid of IE or Firefox and install "Seamonkey" as your default browser. It comes from the same stable as Mozilla and uses the same engine but that doesn't have all the frills & crap that bloat Firefox. The troublesome AVG 8 toolbar which seems to be a problem for so many of us, ceases to be a problem because it doesn't install on Seamonkey and therefore doesn't intrude to cause slowdowns, stalling and so on. Give it a try,.. you have nothing to lose.
