Blocked sites

I am running XP on Firefox.
Some of my sites are blocked: Google, GMail, Amazon.co.uk, Yahoo, Pirate Bay.

Otherwise all is normal.

I have changed browsers to no avail.

When I try to log in to one of these sites, i get "Waiting for..." at the bottom left of the browser screen, but no further progress.
Thanks

Did you used to be able to access these sites?
If you could, Have you installed any new software or made any changes to your system?

Re: Blocked sites

No, I am not aware that I have changed anything. In an effort to fix problem I deleted all cookies and temp files. Is there anything in common that these sites need to get a connection. I have run malware and virus scans.
Thanks
