Windows One Care Versus BitDefender
I have recently had the misfortune to have had my PC crash on me, and consequently lose 'All' my files etc. Although I had backups, they were either out of date or not controlled by proper backup software packages. A kind software company (for a small fee) reinstalled a basic working system for me, and am now in the process of re-establishing my database. Prior to my crash I had tried several backup S/W packages, but found them not very user friendly, so had stopped using them. If this all sound too familiar then please forgive me. The bottom line is that I wish to buy, yes you heard me correct, buy a security S/W package. After some investigation I have decided on either Windows OneCare or BitDefender (readers may know of even better ones, please feel free to recommend). My problem is that I have had conflicting reports and would like some advice on the matter.

Re: Windows One Care Versus BitDefender
ray,
it's kinda confusing to figure out specifically what you are asking for. if it's antivirus/antispyware, then i would go with bitdefender over onecare. just make sure you don't have any remnants from previous AV/AS programmes. if it's a programme for backing up your computer, there are paid programmes like carbonite that take care of that, though i have never gone that route. i always just burn the info to a cd+r. |
