My Mcafee is diabled and everytime I use any kind of search engine on Firefox and include the word Mcafee Firefox shuts down and I have to restart the session of firefox. I have also tried to use Ad-Aware and Spybot search and destroy, neither of these work. I also downloaded Smitfraudfix v2.311 (don't know if this is where the problem came from). I have tried to remove Smitfraudfix and can not find it in the "add remove programs". Can anyone tell me what type of virus I have and what I need to do to fix/kill it. The Mcafee icon in the taskbar is white with a red M...which appears to be normal...however it will not allow me to open McAfee Secuirty center, or run any other applications from Mcafee when I right click on the Mcafee icon in the taskbar. Every once in awhile there will also be a series of icons in the tray that are white in color with a red arrow in a circle on it. Thanks for any help you can offer. I can surf the web and also go to my frequent web-sites...the only time I have a problem is when I try to go to mcafee's web-site or type in any key word that has "mcafee" in the search bar.

Re: Mcafee is Disabled
Take a look at your hosts file. See if there are any entries in there pointing to a malicious IP address.
Or, follow these instructions to seek assistance for malware removal: If you think your computer is infected....
