Zonealarm - High number of intrusions

Heya

Since I installed ZoneAlarm this morning, I noticed that the intrusions number has been shooting up really fast. (about 7 or 8 every 10 seconds)

So far it's blocked 12000 intrusions, none are high rated though.

I'm guessing it must be a program on my pc which is trying to gain access to an update server or something. Could this be the problem?

I mean, it's nothing to really worry about, but still, I'd like to find out what's trying to gain access!

Edit: I checked the zonealarm log and all of the source IP's are different.

Thanks.

Re: Zonealarm - High number of intrusions

These intrusions are just that...........IN trusions..........outside sources trying to get in to your PC as opposed to inside progs trying to get out.

ZA is merely flagging up that it is doing it's job and keeping all these attempts to contact your PC at bay and succesfully blocking attacks.

As to the number, mine has about 120,000 blocked so far over a twelve month period.

It's nothing to worry about, your firewall is just doing it's job.

Re: Zonealarm - High number of intrusions

As guiblum says, nothing to worry about. If Zone Alarm was showing zero blocked intrusions, then you'd have a problem.

It can be scary to see such a high number of access attempts, but this is perfectly normal.
