Spybot problems keep coming back
Trying to help my parents whose computer has come under attack by spyware and adware. I downloaded Ad-Aware, Spybot and CWShredder. According to Ad-Aware and CW Shredder, they are clear. Spybot also says all clear, then the problems just reappear the next time Spybot is run after rebooting.
I had a similar problem with our computer several years ago and I can't remember the next step necessary. I vaguely remember something about Hijackthis and manually deleting registry keys. Any direction would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.. |

Re: Spybot problems keep coming back
HijackThis and/or manipulating your registry manually should only be performed by professionals, as you can cause harm to the system.
Take a look at our HijackThis 5 Step Process and post a HijackThis log in our HijackThis Log Help board. A member of our Security Team will inspect the log and assist you further. If you have issues following the 5 steps, please continue through the steps and make a note of the problem in your post. The Security Team is very busy, so please expect delays in response. Don't worry, you will not be forgotten and will be attended to. |
