my computer got infected ?? please help !!!
Hello my computer was totally infected with viruses, spyware and adware few days back. So I just deleted all the unnecessary files, temporary internet files, ran spybot search and destroy scan where I found 53 problems which I fixed in there, scanned with Norton antivirus where I got 4 threats and was fixed successfully. I defragmented and disk clean up already.
But for some reason still my computer is not running with as good speed as it suppose to be. I have 1 GB of ram and Pentium 4 3.2 Mhz. I know its not very fast processor as compared to latest ones. But its not running with the same speed what it used to be. When I try to restore my system on back date (bold letters), I tried so many dates but it always say your system cannot be restored on this date. Could anybody please tell me how can I find a date where I can restore my system too. But this will be my last option. Please don’t suggest to reformat my hard drive. I want to fix it in some other way. Any other suggestions for this Thanks in advance |

Re: my computer got infected ?? please help !!!
Viruses, spyware and adware do permanent damage. Spybot search and destroy just eliminates the threats but doesn't do repairs to any damage done to the registry of windows which may be why it is running slow

how to repair damage caused by viruses or malwares?
Few days back my computer got infected with some kind of viruses, malware or spyware. I m not sure what exactly was that but it turned by computer really slow. So with the help of spybot, Norton antivirus and some more steps of cleaning in system tools options, I m able to operate it. But speed of the system is not same what it was used to be.
I was told that my system is still running slow because damage done by any of these reasons is permanent. So software like spybot can remove those reasons but cannot repair the system damage in anyways. Is it right ?? If it really caused any damage. How could I repair those damages. I am not getting any error messages. So I am not sure how do I know which files are damaged. If in any case it caused problems in registry than how can I fix those registry errors. ( I wanna state again, I m not getting any errors but system is still very slow) Any suggestions ? Thanks in advance |

Re: my computer got infected ?? please help !!!
Have a look at this page, put together by our colleague miekeimoes
http://users.telenet.be/bluepatchy/m...wcomputer.html If none of that helps, it may be that you're still infected. If you think your computer is infected.... Sometimes, depending on what the infection was, the only way to restore a system to it's like-new condition is to do a repair install of the operating system, or a system recovery using the manufacturer's restore partition or CD.
