psw.generic5.amib or psw.generic5am1b (?)

Hi,

I have come across the above trojan that is proving very hard to remove.

I have tried AVG professional, Trend House Call and PC Tools AV...the latter recommended to remove this trojan, however all have failed to remove it.
Whilst it appears to be resident in a system restore file...I cannot find how to locate these to remove it.

I would appreciate some advice and directon, as being most security concious have found AVG, Spybot S&D & Ad-aware to have been have been sufficient in the past.

Many thanks

You need to post all those logs in the Hijackthis room then an analyst will try to help you.

Thanks Angelfire777, does that forums analysts then take over from this 'general computer security' one?

I use AVG Free. It removed the trojan without problems.

You do need to be patient. We have an ever growing number of users requiring help, but only a limited number of analysts available, all of whom are volunteers.

Re: psw.generic5.amib or psw.generic5am1b (?)

Thanks for the reminder Glasweigan.
Indeed it was just a passing comment....(perhaps better left unsaid).
I do appreciate the input to date, and what is to come.
Patience is not an issue...

ciao for now
