Access is denied!

Hi everyone! I am having a very peculiar problem with my removable drives for the past month on my Dell Inspiron 6400. The thing is that whenever I insert some sort of removable media Kaspersky says that DriveLetter:/recycler/~systmp has a Worm.Win32.Autorun.ww virus and it deletes it and after that whenever i click on the Drive letter is gives me "Access is Denied" error. The weird part is that i can just do Run->DriveLetter: and then i am able to explore the removable drive easily. So although its not that big of a deal as i am able to access my data but it is kind of annoying. This only happens on small removable media because my larger external hard drives dont have a problem. I tried right clicking on the removable drive and exploring it but it still gives me the error. Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks!

Re: Access is denied!

Hi ssjgoku5

Let's see if this will help.

Please download Flash Disinfector and save it to your desktop.
  • Double-click Flash_Disinfector.exe to run it and follow any prompts that may appear.
  • The utility may ask you to insert your flash drive and/or other removable drives including your mobile phone. Please do so and allow the utility to clean those drives as well.
  • Wait until it has finished scanning and then exit the program.
  • Reboot your computer when done.
Note: Flash_Disinfector will create a hidden folder named autorun.inf in each partition and every USB drive plugged in when you ran the tool. Do not delete this folder. It will help protect your drives from future infection.

Try again, please.

Then, if you still need help follow these steps:

Please follow our 5 Step process outlined here:

http://www.techsupportforum.com/secu...oval-help.html

After running through all the steps, please post the requested logs in the HijackThis Log Help forum, not here.

If you have trouble with one of the steps, simply move on to the next one, and make note of it in your reply.

Please note that the HijackThis Log Help forum is extremely busy, and it may take a while to receive a reply.
