Kaspersky?? Norton??
Hi, I have just got a new laptop. It comes with a 30 Day trial of McAfee Total Protection. I have not had a good experience with Norton Internet Security (2002) and McAfee in th past. I am interested in getting either Kaspersky antivirus or Kaspersky Internet Security. I've heard that it hogs system resources. Is it as bad or Norton or McAfee?? Also, Norton Internet security 2008 is rated very highly by a number of websites. Is it lighter than the previous versions of Norton??
By the way, my laptop has a 1.4 GHz Core 2 Duo processor and 2 GB of RAM. |

Re: Kaspersky?? Norton??
welcome to TSF,
first thing, make sure you completely uninstall mcafee. i used it and there was a reasonably labor intensive removal procedure associated with that antivirus programme. i would be prepared for when you remove mcafee. if you don't, you may have problems with your new AV, no matter which one you choose. if it's a choice between kaspersky and norton, i choose kaspersky, and the major reason for this is the norton policy of charging money for phone support. kaspersky has great phone support, and a dedicated forum on-line that is very helpful. always choose to "trial" the software, so you're certain that it works before you make a commitment to purchase. |
