"If I have spybot, do I need adware?"

I have spybot, I also have adware, I was thinking of getting rid of ad ware, do I need both?thanks

joe,
adaware (by lavasoft) is what i think you mean. these programmes don't always look for the same malware, so the more programmes you have, the better chance you have of keeping your computer clean.
you don't need it, but if it detects (and hopefully removes) something that spybot missed, then it's worth having.

personally I like to keep two different ones installed. You always need a second opinion by different utilities since they look at things differently and theres not one utility out there thats 100 percent accurate.

I can't seem to update my adware any longer, (since about january) maybe they have released another version and sttoped offering updates?

they did stop support to adaware personal se and you will have to download adaware 2007.
