Re: windows defender???

no security programme is 100%, each programme will detect different varieties of malware. the more programmes that you scan with, the better the chance of detecting the malware.
i wish i could have used windows defender, but it was buggy. adaware is ok, i use it too. i also use superantispyware, asquared free, and spybot s&d as on-demand scans in safe mode.
many antivirus programmes detect a wide range of spyware and riskware as well. if you use on-line scanners, that will help find malware on your computer, if it exists. remember to pause protection with your real-time AV, don't have two running at the same time.
always be sure to use legitimate programmes, there are rogue programmes that try to trick you, so they can infect your computer.

Re: windows defender???

I find a combination of AdAware, SPybot S&D and Apsyware Blaster seem to work ok for me.
