File Not Found Pops Up When Accessing The Internet.

I get this message every time I access the Internet from the desk top. The thing is, the page I am accessing is found and working perfectly. The Error Message says:-

Windows cannot find C:\Documents and Settings etc.

When the page opens up the Mozilla Firefox Tab bar displays the last page I looked at and the new page as well. I can only delete the last page by clicking on the Close tab on the Tab Bar. I cannot delete this page permanently by clicking Home or Refresh buttons. When I am surfing from site to site the Mozilla Firefox Tab Bar gets full of links to pages I have visited. I have to manually delete each one.
This problem has only existed since I cleaned my computer of Malware. (Read my other thread on the AVG Anti-Root Kit solution). I first used Hijack This to get a log. I was told to delete any file with more than 8 letters of jibberish. I found three files. They are listed below. I then used AVG Anti-Root Kit and found 6 hidden files - 5 of which were System 32 files and 1 file called a Prefetch file. This file had the same suffix as the other 5 System 32 files. The AVG application was successful in ridding my computer of Spyware and Malware.
I need to know if these 3 files I deleted are causing my problems.

Told by whom?

Seems like your machine is still infected, or at least has orphans in the registry.

Please follow our 5 Step process outlined here:

http://www.techsupportforum.com/secu...oval-help.html

After running through all the steps, please post the requested logs in the HijackThis Log Help forum, not here.

If you have trouble with one of the steps, simply move on to the next one, and make note of it in your reply.

Please note that the HijackThis Log Help forum is extremely busy, and it may take a while to receive a reply.

Re: File Not Found Pops Up When Accessing The Internet.

The information I read was on the "Gibdon Moon" blogspot. It worked for him. I'll follow the steps as you say. I wasn't sure where to post this thread. A lot of computer jargon is still gobbly gook to me.
