win32 virut.q

Hi i just formated my laptop earlier and installed windows xp pro then downloaded kaspersky internet security after i installed it and scanner basically all my files are infected with win32 virut.q. iv tried searching google on how to remove it but got nothing, could someone please help thanks.

@Steve - you have the terminal cancer of infections, I'm afraid. Virut changes all your .exe files and is polymorphic itself. It's almost impossible to achieve a clean machine and the anti malware community are in agreement that the best option is a re-format and re-install - sorry. You can save any documents but that's all.

If you need any help with the format etc, our XP Forum will be glad to help.
