I have a cable modem, and for some reason it and my whole computer has been running really slow ever since I put Norton 2007 on, it is a necessity though. My problem is, There are intrusion attempts every few minutes, and I dont recognize any of the IP addresses, and i looked them up, and most are around where I live, and most of the security warnings for the intrusion attempts say its coming from system or C/windows/system32/SVChost, i have no idea what any of this means, but its driving me CRAZY, I figure thats why its running so slow, Nortons trying to block these things all the time, is it really dangerous and how do i fix it

Re: Norton Intrusions
Thanks so much for trying to help, I looked at the 'sticky', but I dont h ave any adware or filesharing, but for some reason, when I get those intrusion attempts they say their coming from SVChost, BUT Thats in my windows/system32 folder, it says svchost.exe, if i delete this will it mess my windows XP up, I have Norton Internet Security, but Ive talked to 4 different people from there and they know nothing more than i do

Re: Norton Intrusions
Go to the bottom of the sticky and you'll see a red link to Step 2 of 5. You need to complete all 5 pages and post as many of the requested logs as possible, so our security analysts can see what's on your machine.
MS .NET Framework is required for some programs to run. You can get version 2.0 from here, but don't install yet until you get another reply from Angelfire777.

Re: Norton Intrusions
It should be ok to install it but if you do not really need it yet, it would be best if your machine is confirmed clean before installing it.
