programs on the fritz

how it all started: about two days ago Jan 18 i installed frostwire..thought it was neat..got curious with torrent downloads, downloaded a program today, wouldnt open said file was corrupt, so immediately i went to see if any other software snuck its way in. And behold...Dot1XCfg....in my control panel. tried uninstalling computer locks up causing me to hold the power button down.
The Problem: pop ups of web cams, and repeated attempts to open limewire and frostwire, even after uninstalling both programs. Even tried restoring to an earlier point.

Any suggestions?

Thank you
CC

Did you reach the 5th Step? There you will find info on how to run a simple scanner and how to post the log in a new thread in the HijackThis Forum. From there an analyst will help you clean your system.
