@Azinulbizar

Please read here. Only authorised security staff may post specific removal advice to users. Whilst I appreciate you are trying to help, malware has become more complex today and running even the simplest scan or programme could, in certain circumstances, render a users system useless.

@Isnipan - see here for our guide to using Smitfraudfix, or if you are not comfortable with that, follow these instructions

http://www.techsupportforum.com/secu...sting-log.html

If you cannot complete any of the Steps, simply move on to the next one - remember to let the Analyst know about this when you post your logs.

Do not post your logs back in this thread - follow the guidance in the above link!

Please note that the Security Forum is always busy, so I would ask for your patience while waiting for a reply.

Re: Remove Smit-fraud?

I understand. Noted. I probably should have tried to help him/her figure out if they even had it before instructing to remove it.

Re: Remove Smit-fraud?

That's OK - what you can do is direct users to this thread

http://www.techsupportforum.com/secu...sting-log.html

and ask them to follow the instructions. The security team can take it thereafter.

Re: Remove Smit-fraud? two computers XP and ME

Help needed here too!
smitfraud-C generic everywhere and downloaded smitfraudfix program yesterday onto my ME computer and now this was a trogan horse.
what is the simplest and safest way to get rid of these on WIN ME and WIN XP. two computers! I always use AVG, found the trogan horse but not smitfraud original. SpyBot : found smitfraud , and Ad Aware. all generally successfully. now what?

Re: Remove Smit-fraud?

Sorry - can't count.

If you still have problems I would suggest following the link in Post #4 and posting your logs in the HijackThis Forum. An analyst will then advise on what actions to take.
