free registry cleaners?

any one know of any free reliable registry cleaners? thanks terp

Hi,

There are a lot of free registry cleaners out there but I for one, do not recommend such cleaners. I've tried them before.. Removed thousands of this and thousands of that.. At the end, nothing really happened. No increase in performance at all..

I'm trying to get rid of winlogon.exe I thought a registry cleaner would get rid of it. Do you know what I would need to get rid of this? I've tried spybot&destroy, I have trend micros (not impressed at all with this). thanks terp

Winlogon.exe is a critical system file. But of course, it depends on the location. Location of the legit winlogon.exe is found here: c:\Windows\system32.. Anywhere else is not good. I don't see why you need a registry cleaner to deal with this.

If you're dealing with a winlogon.exe found other than the system32 location, read this sticky:If you think your computer is infected....

I did a search and found 3 winlogon.exec, 2 were legit, the last 1 wasn't, I deleted, everything is good now.
