Mulitiple Issues, Please help

Here are the problems I am having:

-I get new explorer windows that open up unexpectedly. If I do a search from Google, yahoo, etc and click on a link I am taken to an unrelated site.

-I get error messages randomly telling me that a file is missing.

-The language bar on the windows task bar seems to check itself. Basically I do not need the language bar on my task bar. I right click on the task bar, uncheck the language bar and everything is fine until my computer is restarted. Once restarted, the language bar is there again.

-This is just me not knowing how to ajust the settings: there are 11 items in the notification are next to the clock. I do not need all these programs automatically starting every time I turn on the computer. How do I set these?

I have run a virus scan using the aol safety and security center (although I should mention that I do not use aol... to access internet - just so happened to find this program easy to use)

I also have Ad-Aware 2007 which I ran last night.

Problems still exist. What should I do next?

Any help is appreciated, thank you so much in advance!

Re: Mulitiple Issues, Please help

sounds like you might have something nasty. at the top right of the screen in the page, there should be a line about having problems with spyware and popuups? Click on first steps and follow the steps. Do this before doing anything pertaining to your other problems since they all may be related.
