Irritating norton prompt

Hi,

Since yesterday, I've been recieving a prompt from norton saying 'Norton Auto-Protect detected security risk winfixer'. I've been recieving this about every five minutes and can't seem to get rid of it. I've tried running a norton scan but the scan fails/or doesn't start. Tried a few other programs but nothing. I don't think anything's been affected but the constant prompts are highly annoying

Does anyone know how to get rid of this?

You appear to have an infection on your machine. winfixer is associated with Vundo infections.

First, clear your Temp files.

Please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune.
This program is for XP and Windows 2000 only

Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
Under Main choose: Select All
Click the Empty Selected button.

If you use Firefox browser

Click Firefox at the top and choose: Select All
Click the Empty Selected button.
NOTE: If you would like to keep your saved passwords, please click No at the prompt.

If you use Opera browser

Click Opera at the top and choose: Select All
Click the Empty Selected button.
NOTE: If you would like to keep your saved passwords, please click No at the prompt.

Click Exit on the Main menu to close the program.
For Technical Support, double-click the e-mail address located at the bottom of each menu.
