No-Adware discovered two files..c:\windows\unins000.dat
Good day mate!
I have a need for your expertise on malware or spyware. First off NoAdware found the following 2 files: Item= 2Spy classification - c:\windows\unins000.dat and 2spy classification - c:\windows\unins000..exe. I ran TrendMicro's Hijackthis and it found the following R3 - URLSearchHook: (no name) - {EF99BD32-C1FB-11D2-892F-0090271D4F88} - (no file) dn I deleted using their sw. Google has a lot but didn’t find anything really clear on files. Any help would be appreciated, :-) Blues |

Hi and welcome to TSF.
Those 2 files are usually used when uninstalling a programme - they are quite common. Because of their nature, they are often flagged as potential problems. The R3 entry is related to Yahoo and is legit.

Thank you for your insight. I deleted the yahoo bar some time ago and am unsure if I should restore the files or just leave well enough alone/

I would just leave them.

Re: No-Adware discovered two files..c:\windows\unins000.dat
No-Adware may be a rogue antispyware program. It has been listed on the SpywareWarrior Rogue Antispyware List. More can be found at Wikipedia.
You should scan your system with some other anti-spyware tools, such as Windows Defender (in my signature below). If you believe your system is actually infected follow the 5 steps in my signature. BMR777
