Re: lop and trojan virus troubles
Hi there and welcome to TSF.
I'd say yes, go ahead and delete them, but it might be better if one of our security analysts looks at it. I'll move your thread to General Computer Security.

Re: lop and trojan virus troubles (Moved from Windows XP)
I'm not a security analyst, and none of the files turn up any results on Google, but
[1] The files wouldn't do anything in the vault, they're encrypted. [2] Deleting them probably wouldn't make any difference, except that they are not on the computer anymore, saving some hard drive space. But having a lot of viruses, trojan, etc probably means that you don't have a really secure/safe computer. Might as well clean it up using this guide. |

Re: lop and trojan virus troubles (Moved from Windows XP)
systemvolume information is System Restore.
If they are in the vault, they are safe, but anytime a scanner removes things from System Restore points, it renders the point unusable. Flushing old points, and setting a new clean one will take care of that. CLEAR & RESET SYSTEM RESTORE'S CACHE Go to Start >> Run - type or copy/paste control sysdm.cpl,,4 & press Enter * Tick on the checkbox - Turn off System Restore on all drives * Click Apply Turn it back 'On' by unticking the same checkbox & click Apply, and then OK --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If this path c:document and settings \darlene weeeks \local settings \te Is really: c:\documents and settings\darlene weeeks\local settings\temp Using a TEMP cleaner such as windows cleanmgr, or ATF Cleaner will remove those. Your best overall move would be to follow the link Wox has already given. Infections have ways of renewing themselves unless all parts of them are eradicated. http://www.techsupportforum.com/secu...tml#post342651 Perform those steps, and post the resulting logs in a new thread in the HijackThis log help forum.
