Hi, between Friday Oct.5th 5pm and Sunday 7th 7pm, someone has changed all my passwords to my most used web sites : Hotmail, Google, Facebook, Friendster, Dandelife, Delicious, Blogger.
I did write to the web sites to get my accounts back. I really hope it's possible. At first I thought it was a marketing ploy to send mass spam by using all my emails. But after remembering I could check my work email from home, I found a message sent from MY Hotmail account : "Be careful with your passwords Jane. New Saturn777". My name's not Jane and I don't know any Janes. I NEVER give my passwords away and my logins and passwords are almost never the same. In this email, after my electronic signature I have quotes and there was one I didn't recognize. It wasn't one of mine, it was in French (my main language) and it basically said I will die alone and in torment. It convinced me it was personal. I tried saturn777 in Hotmail and it worked but it doesn't anymore so I'm waiting for tech support. The thing is : 1) How can someone find out all my passwords if they're all different and my logins also ? 2) How can I find who is that person so I can do something about this ? 3) I have an ibook with a modem connection at home but use explorer at work on a PC. So it comes from work and after scanning for viruses and cookies, we oly found tracking cookies. So HOW ? Hoping, you can open my eyes to this whole new world !

Re: Someone changed all my passwords
Did you scan for keyloggers, malware and spyware?
What software firewall and hardware router are you using? Last edited by sultan_emerr; 10-09-2007 at 06:32 PM. |

Re: Someone changed all my passwords
Hi, we did scan for viruses, spyware and everything, we even looked for any program that didn't fit and nothing was out of ordinary. A lot of tracking cookies but that was to expect since I go a lot on the net at work for the job and for myself.
I don't know what kind of firewall we have, it's a really big company. I know it's not strong enough to keep away spam about ****** but too strong because some people from outside can't write to me from their corporate emails. The technicians at work checked my computer, nothing was wrong, the firewall wasn't breached. The hardware is okay. The software works fine.
