SpectorSoft Found on my computer
This morning I was being blocked from my Cox Webmail at work. Thinking it was a Cox problem, I asked someone else if they had problems, and they had none. My next guess was that it had something to do with IE, so I installed Firefox to see if that would work.
When I tried to access the Webmail site, I got this message: "Oops! Spectorsoft has blocked this site". Now, of course I didn't install this, and haven't figured out who has or why, but I am wondering if there is a way to block it or get rid of it. The system is a network, but I'm *guessing* that this is installed on my computer. Our system is administered by an outside firm, who I know has access remotely to the system, so could it have been installed by them?? If so, I guess my next issue will be to find out why... Please advise any help you might be able to provide. Thanks in advance! notime2work |

Re: SpectorSoft Found on my computer
hi and welcome to TSF.
SS is a parental control program that parents or companies install on computers to make sure the kids/workers are doing what they are supposed to do. Every move on the computer would be monitored. I wouldn't uninstall it if I were you, cos even if you can you'd get fired or something.. |

Re: SpectorSoft Found on my computer
Hi notime2work -
Looks like you'll need to contact sysadmin to have them look into it.
