Outlook express - barrage of spam mail

My dad runs a business from our home computer and about 3 hours ago, when he was chekcing emails he recieved 337 emails all of it spam. So i ran spybot S&D (after updating it, which he hadnt done for a year) and it came across a couple of viruses: DSO exploit and Admilli services. I looked these up in google and it turns out DSO exploit affects programs like internet explorer and outlook express and Admilli services generates advertisments.

So i kinda put two and two together and assumed that maybe the DSO is putting a hole in outlook while Admilli shoves spam in to it.

So i deleted these items but the emails just keep coming around 500 an hour. I've done all the usual virus checking on his norton antivirus but we just cant get rid of it. And its a pain because we have to delete 100's of email to keep the inbox clear.

Please help :) thanks

Re: Outlook express - barrage of spam mail

Hi

DSO exploit is an IE problem that should not cause a problem if windows updates are done.

ADMILLI normally causes pop ups.

If the computer has not been updated regularly you probably have other problems aswell.

If you follow the instructions HERE (just click on link)and post your log in the HJT forum , an analyst will help you clean the computer.
