trojan disables keyboard and mouse

My daughters pc has a trojan virus but she was u

nable to get the name. She said that AVG was detecting it when her machine rebooted. Now we have no keyboard or mouse, and since they have a muliti-user setup I can't even get past the user selection screen in regular or safe mode. Any ideas??

What type of keyboard is it?? PS/2 or USB?

Is it possible for you to try the 'non-working' keyboard on another computer?

Yes they both perform admirably on another machine, and I have tried other keyboards and mouse on the affected machine and they still do not work on the affected machine..
