computrace security by absoulte
i have computrace on my lap top but not sure if its working still or not when i go into the bios it states its deactivated..is it really or is it something the company does and what if i do want to diable it it says by doing so no other changes can be made what does that mean and by disableing it. does it not work im confused, anyone that may have it or knowledge of it would be a great help thanks pumpkinman

![]() Computrace is a company that tracks the signal of your laptop incase of someone stealing it. You have the choice to enable it if you want but you must pay for the service. If you disable it you will never have the chance to enable it again, it will lock when you disable it. Right now it is working but it is deactivated. You still have the choice to leave it. You get the choice in the BIOS alot in Dell Laptops. I have it in my Inspiron 6000. Also you should not really mess with the BIOS unless you know what you are doing
