Anybody know a good anti-spyware program? I tried Ad-Aware 2007 and got random error messages. I don't know if it is just me or if Ad-Aware 2007 is a little buggy?

You can run more then one anti spyware just not anti virus try avg anti-spyware

You can try the Starter Edition of Spydoctor, it's part of the Google Pack.

I run spyware and adware scans every week using SpyBot and Ad-Aware, but Spydoctor managed to find a lot of things that the others didn't find.

Go to this webpage and uncheck everything except for Spydoctor:

I am using AVG antispyware and i think I am going to keep it, but it has a 30 day trial and i will lose the resident shield which I think is protection and I don't have the money to purchase the pro edition at this time. I think SpywareBlaster is a protection program. Do you know of any others?

Now....I think this is like the 3th or 4th antispyware utility focused thread of late in this forum!

I totally get this is about the inevitable resurgence of Al Qaeda, now stronger than ever and really pissed now behind our invasion of a soverign nation with no real terrorists. ...and all these new threads= official policy of Homeland Security.

And I for one....as a result, feel waaaaaay safer. When they, the terrorrootkits return here in Manhattan....I will just run my scans if they get past my two actively running antispy utilities .

Again, in my experience, Advanced Windows Care by iobit....they have free version, V good active antispy and scan, (and many other fabulous features) as well, also warpspoeed engine....

. ...plus the not free but lovely Trend Micro antispy (if not the last build).....with AWC, catches and precludes more terrorists and spies than any other combination.....but this is subjective. Trend does offer a free 30 day trial on the latter. Also atypically fast engine.

I believe it was an ambulance driver running AWC who scanned and picked up that incendiary Benz in London.

Ariesjill, You will b glad 2 know that i no longer have a winmac. It is good ol' XP Pro once again!!! I kicked the habit and have stopped trying to make my XP look like a Mac.

Anyone who thinks spyware and hotifix hell R the issues.....should read the Washinton Post, listen to Air America, watch CNN. Now, well over 200 MILLION EACH DAY .....to kill more innocent humans, make the rich richer....and breed more terrorists per minute than anyone could have believed possible.

I will take hotifx hell any day of the week.
