Jetico issue :S

Yes i've decided to switch to jetico, with recent leak test results. I've uninstalled my old firewall, downloaded, jetico (beta) v.2.0 (newest one) i installed, everything was working fine, ti'll i noticed the icon at the bottom of the tray was gray, so i clicked on it. Everything was "allow" i thought this might have been a glitch or somewhat. So i closed jetico and re-opened it, jsut to find, "The configurations have been damaged, please reinstall Jetico" i reinstalled, same problem whats up?

Hi

Always a possibility when using beta versions. Have you tried a fresh download - could be your original one was corrupt in some way. If that doesn't help you may need to contact the vendors direct.

Also, if I remember correctly since it has been a while since I used Jetico, it doesn't automatically save changes, so you have to save the changes you make.

Re: Jetico issue :S

bah, is jetico even worth it? i dont usualy use a firewall anyways, i just find, no matter what most firewalls dont stop anything anyways, the most i usualy find are tracking cookies. But most things are avoidable, just be cautions.

Firewalls do work when used in conjunction with anti-virus/spyware, and safe surfing habits. Do they stop everything? No. That is the nature of the game. As far as Jetico goes, it is a very good firewall, but also not for the faint of heart. I liked it alot. The only reason I got rid of it was that I got tired of the monitoring for a while. Now I use Comodo. But if you want to know what all is going on Jetico will definetly let you know

Re: Jetico issue :S

haha yeah i had comodo before, but i also dislike firewalls alot jsut for the fact that each time i play a game, for instance Age of mythology, it says "connecting to eso..." it seems like its frozen trying to connect? wrong, in the background comodo is asking you "Allow or deny this program" and I CANT GET TO IT LOL, so i have to restart my comp, thats why i dont like firewalls. But thankfuly i use to screens to i just drag it over to the other screen. hehe
