Help!! Task Manager Disabled!!

Please advise: I have had my task manager disabled and found my files duplicated on my PC. For example, if I have a folder marked "Sales Receipts" and I click on it, there will be all my individual Word documents with proper sales receipts, BUT there is also another folder marked "Sales Receipts" inside. That duplicate folder is an .exe folder.

I have run McAfee several times, nothing was found, after a week or so, found ALL my folders were duplicated with .exe files. PC has slowed down considerably.

Also, in frustration, I backed up everything then totally reformatted, reinstalled most of my software, it looked like things were cleared up, task manager was fine, but NOW IT IS DISABLED AGAIN!!!!

Appreciate any assistance, am now nervous about doing ANYTHING on the PC.

When you say disabled what do you mean? you cant open it? some parts are missing?

Since you formatted the drive anyway and have nothing to lose, you might aswell format it properly this time, low format, using Dban: http://dban.sourceforge.net/

You won't have any problems then if you reinstall unless you have no system security and start networking in the wrong ways.
