Patch Installation Issue
Hello.
!) As I sometimes do in excess of caution, I just visited Trend Micro Housecall and ran it. 2) It said I had moderate vulnerability in Net framework 2.0 and shold download a spec ific patch. 3) I wentr to the patch page on MS, chose the x86 one right for my system, downloaded it and got the window I am about to paste after installer started...saying patch could not B olpened, is this real Deal patch, etc??? 4) I also got Trend Micro antispy window asking me if I agreed to the changes re the patch. I agreed. If the patch did not install, as per below....how come TM antispy picked it up & asked me about it????? ![]() Wut up?

Re: Patch Installation Issue
Hello again.
OK here's the deal/ solution/explanation for anyone interested, and from The Horse's Mouth: Nia at Microsoft.....adorable, I luv huh. ![]() I started to use my MS Passport password and do this by email....but IT DIN WORK....I found out why later, will say in a minute. So then....I called them, and got amazing Nia Summed up problem accurately for her.... gave her the MS ID for the patch, had the exe file on my desktop in anticipation of her asking wut the installer window said. Told her this; she asked me to run it. I did and window came up as above, I read it to her. Then she.....ran the patche's exe file on her end (genius, right?)....her system is runing Vista of course, I asked. And SHE, Ms MS techie...GOT THE SAME EXACT window as above! O! Fascinating, RIGHT? there is uber fun in EVERYTHING. oK, not in abject ugly, but in most things. Then she asked which NET Frameworks I had. I went to Add/Remove, shared that I had 1, 2 and 3....told her which patches for each. 3 has none yet. THENNNNNNNNN.....she giggled and said, it won't install, cause u don't need it, NF three, is wut is running and 2 is moot & has been overwritten.....same deal in the system she was on which is why....she got the same WINDOWWW AS I DID ABOVE! I also, of course asked if I should uninstall 1 & 2. she said no cause hyur versionof 3 is not complete version, it is the one right 4 yr system and is based on 2. By this time....we were having an actual little party, oK? thenn....I was like, but Nia, I tholught 3 was for Vista. She said, hyour versiohn, the one which installed is for XP Pro. Parteeeee! anolther adorable little arcane nugget!!!!!! Then, I giggled and yelped , jumped up and down with happy and praise as silly wabbits do, then she did, being a kindred silly wabbit....forget a really excellent techie....sharp as a stilleto, I knew it the minute she answered. I learned good stuff as always.....we chatted, had more fun and then parted ways...though neither of us wanted 2 hang up.....this normal human contact=nourishment and people appear starved 4 it. A perfect moment. ![]() Fascinating, right? Now....the reason my MS Password data email attempt din work....cause Nia had all my info, they pull your whole life up in a nano...via your phone #, luv this.....was, I chose XP in the product list....and Nia said I should have chosen "updates." ![]() O! Crystal clarity.....accurate info...and, two humans who both celebrate intelligence in others! Also joy. We luv that, right? ![]() Ovah!

Re: Patch Installation Issue
I SO know U do....I get U R a pure human....did from jump. ![]() Thing was, it wasn't BROKE, din need fixing; it was just FINE! We can also again learn that software is software and not even close to the infinite riches of humans & other living beings....even including the remarkable Trend Micro Housecall.....which I have always adored and felt was a real gift. Hope this might also help others in some way.

Re: Patch Installation Issue
There's Mr. Real Deal, joyously, reflexively generous again! Actually, I have evolved my armamentarium of utilities so acutely over time....I realy don even need Housecall....but, as I said, it is inan excess of caution that I visit it every couple of months.
But wut I WOULD like....is for everyone in this little community.....to have the joy of manifesting YOUR INTACT ESSENCE...juuuust a little more. ![]() And that.....is a fact.
