Testing my anti-virus/spyware programs
I have several of them:
Running all the time: Avast SpywareGuard Comodo BOClean Then there are the usual that I run weekly: Ad-Aware Spybot AVG Anti-Spyware Avast At times I've had to delete what I thought was spyware but then I started to worry thinking I might have deleted something in another program or if they're interferring. Is there anyway I could test if they'd all respond properly if they needed to? |

Re: Testing my anti-virus/spyware programs
Hello Vinnie,
Quote:
(They have a number of different programs available, and you do not mention which one it is here.) Because, "Avast" is also an anti virus program, and having two anti virus programs running together (let alone being installed) is not good; they will cause conflicts. ![]() Please post back with the answer to these questions. Kind Regards,

Re: Testing my anti-virus/spyware programs
The usual way of preventing conflicts due to missing files, is to quarantine the suspect files and leave them there for a few days before deleting, to make sure the system is running properly.
Do you have the TeaTimer feature of SpyBot running? This offers realtime protection.

Re: Testing my anti-virus/spyware programs
I've personally had BOClean (powerful) and can say it will conflict with SpyBot S&D. It also offers basically the same active protection as SpyBot "resident shield" and so will be unnecessary.
