Roll Eyes HELP!!! Forbidden Access/Zen Cart

Hi! Hoping someone can help me as I DESPERATELY need it. I am a digital scrapbook nut and I have been going to this one site for about 2-, maybe 3-, weeks now. The first time I was there I bought a kit with a free coupon I had, downloaded it without a single problem, and then for the next couple of days I just browsed around the site to see what else they had. Then I got a birthday gift certificate from the company itself and so I went to the page and got this:

403 Forbidden
Forbidden
You don't have permission to access / on this server.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

I waited two days, thinking there was some website problems, and then went back and it still said that. Someone told me to try a proxy server so I did, and got right in. I wrote the company immediately and they didn't respond. While I was waiting I used my birthday gift certificate, only problem - even while on a proxy server, when I tried to download it got to 22.3 mb of 22.6 mb and STOPPED. There are 5 chances to download and I used all of them and it stopped early each time. Again, I wrote the company...and again, no response.

I followed the steps listed on a blog to change your IP address,but that didn't work. Then completely refomatted my computer thinking that there might be something in my computer that there wasn't supposed to be. I also read that if you unplug your modem overnight, the IP address will be forced to change, so, yeah, I did that too. I did all of that, hooked up the proxy again and went to the site. I bought two super cheap items on an old gift card/credit card and tried again...once again, it gets between .3 and .5 mb close to the end and stops. (But, at least, I've ruled out the possibility of having purchased a corrupt zip with my b-day gift certificate - I think three items is a pretty decent assurance that I've got other problems.) I've tried it through IE and Mozilla Foxfire browsers and there is no difference in the results. I've even tried setting up a new account with the company thinking that someone has broken into my old account. Now...I'm clueless.

I don't know what else to do. I don't know why I was put on the forbidden list in the first place, and I can't get the company to tell me - heck, I can't get the company to tell me anything. I don't have a very high intellect in computers so if you have any solutions for me, please remember I'm a computer idiot while explaining them. Thank you so much for any advice you can give me, I'm desperate here and have no idea what else to do.

Hi Adrianne

If your system used DHCP (dynamic IP), then the address is swapped around. So today you can have it, the next time you connect to the network someone else will. If another person before you abused the IP address you have, then that or maybe even an IP address range, will be blocked by many website masters to access a certain section of or their complete site.

To me it seems you have the same problem since you can get through using a proxy server, although it may possibly be a site error on their behalf. Many sites can be frauds in this way, but I doubt it since they've been running for a while now.

How long did you wait for a reply from them?

Have you tried this email addy: store AT digitalscrapbookplace DOT com

No gaps.

Try that.

Thank you so much for replying. I'm not sure at all whether I have that DHCP or not. However, the first time I wrote them would have been over 2 weeks ago....maybe two weeks and two or three days. The second time would have been around 2 weeks exactly. I've actually used three different emails to write them, one through their forum, one through the store and once through a email that I found in the forum. I checked my sent box for all the emails I've sent them, and there's no errors in any of the addresses that I've sent to.

I'll keep waiting to hear from them but until then, do you have any suggestions on why the download stops early or how I can fix that? I only have a matter of days before the downloads cancel and I really want those scraps. LOL. Seriously...thank you for all the help you've already given me and any that you can provide. Thanks!

Do you use any download managers?

Try using one for the browsers, they speed up the download, let it pause/resume and maintain a better connection. For IE, Getright is very good and for Fx/IE both, Mega Uploader (called Mega Manager) works pretty fine.

The only other alternative is for you to try through a different computer and network connection, or if not possible then that I attempt downloading it for you if you want to isolate whether it's the link that's at error or your network connection.

One other better option is to post in their forum; did you do this?

I've wrote to them and still haven't received a reply so either there's a temporary problem on their end or they're just negligent in their duties. That's about the only options you have actually.

Personally it seems it's a server side error on their behalf (which can easily make a file quit at any time, repeatedly).

Hi again,

Download managers...I use FlashGet. But the site doesn't allow you to download with a manager, I've always prefer it, but it won't work. I'll try getting those others that you mentioned and see if those will work.

Hmmm, the only other computer in the house is on the same connection that this one is. This is probably a stupid question to someone who knows computers, but is there any way to get a different connection on a wireless without effecting the modem's connection? My Mom will kill me if I try to play with her modem, or if I change anything, so....sort of lost here. Yeah, that's probably the stupidest question you've ever heard, but I'm sort of lost. I was thinking about reformatting again and trying the free AOL that's on my system...but that's going to have to be ran through the main modem, yes? So it wouldn't make a difference, right? I can try running to Kinko's or the library on Wednesday and see if I can download from there, maybe that will make a difference.

No, I never posted IN the forum, I wrote to the forum's masters but the one message I did receive was from a "newbie" who said she would pass along my question but as far as SHE knew I would have to contact the store itself as she didn't deal with any of that.

If you hear anything back from the company please let me know. ****** With the holiday I'll be away from the computer most of the week, so I won't be able to run to this site to check, but I can check my email from my phone.

Wow! I had no idea that files could just quit like that over and over and over. I swore up and down someone had been casting spells on my computer or something.

Thank you again for all your help, you have no idea how much I appreciate it. I'm a scrap junkie (it's so addictive) and it's killing me not to be able to get what I want...I have lists upon lists of things that I want and I sort of just drool over it day after day. LMBO.
