computer hijacked??
i have vista home premium edition, i installed the windows updates the other day (6/26/07) but when it restarted my computer everything on my desktop disappeared, the computer acts as if this is the first time i ever used it, and my only account is now a guest. whenever i restart my computer it reverts everything ive done to it, administrator is disabled, under C:/Users it has two new account that i never made. my account is "Styles" but now theres also "Styles.Styles-PC" and "Styles.Styles-PC.000". Also i dont have access to the user account "Styles". I cant acces my computer as an administator or install any tools. Iver tried scanning my computer using the scanners i have (Ad-Aware SE Pro, Spybot S&D, CCleaner, Easy Cleaner, and Nod32) and ive tried a system restore (from my account and from my disk). So can anyone tell me what to do to make it login to "Styles" or at least tell me how to change this account to admin and transfer my files??

Re: computer hijacked??
bloodreign,
it sounds like you have a serious problem. i hope i'm wrong. the best recommendation i can give you is to surf safely, make sure that you have antivirus, antispyware, and firewall, and read the sticky's here at techsupportforums. i am somewhat a newbie myself. there are more knowledgeable folks here that will help you. just be patient. |

Re: computer hijacked??
Have a read of and follow this as much as you can: http://www.techsupportforum.com/secu...sting-log.html
If you can't access the net on that system then maybe from another to download these applications and switch them over using a USB drive. Once the system is clear of malicious applications by the security analysts, we will know for sure it's not a security related issue. Be patient please, as the analysts are very busy and will get round to you as soon as possible. |

What do you mean DSS won't work, what errors do you get or which stage does it reach before stopping? I've just tested it on 2 Vista installs (Home Premium 32-bit and Ultimate 64-bit) and it works fine. So it's something other stopping it. |

Re: computer hijacked??
ok well the other 2 account are what im trying to get access to but when i try to use there account names it logs me into the 3rd one (the guest account) not the other ones. And dss never shows anything when ran, but when looking at it through task manager it pops up twice then disappears then pops up again and does this for about 5 hours with no way to stop it unless i restart.

bloodreign39: I've PM'd a security staff member to instruct you further as I'm not a security staff member here, I can't delve into their analysis matters.
Just give them some time to login, read over and respond.

Re: computer hijacked??
yea, it sucks being locked out of your own account, but i finally gave up and just reinstalled the operating system and, even though i lost all my stuff, i haven't had the problem since
now i have an even bigger problem, lol ![]() my screen randomly died and now matter what i did it wouldn't turn back on, so i opened the shell and was messing around with the cord when i accidentally ripped a few. now my comp is physically broken and i need new cords, lol |
