Confused No Devices in Device Manager

Is this where I would ask a question concerning what a trojan or PUP has gotten me into

Is microsoft also considered an infection in itself?

I just want to get my sound back
YouTube w/o audio is quite lame

Re: No Devices in Device Manager

Hi

*Can you list your system specs please?
*Can you list what system security protection you have running? If you've ran any AV/AS scans?

*What do you mean by "No Devices", none at all?

We'll start off with that for now.

Re: No Devices in Device Manager

Very weird.

Try booting up in Safe Mode and then checking the devices section. Any difference?

If not, place an XP CD inside the drive, goto Start>Run>type: sfc /scannow, hit Enter and Retry to any prompts that may appear. Wait till it finishes. Restart the system when it finishes.

See if anything changes.
