Adaware2007 cannot complete download
Has anyone else had this problem:
I currently have Adaware SE free home version fully updated. I would like to download Adaware 2007. After repeated attempts both on IE7 and latest Firefox, I have yet to complete the download. The most I can get is 14.2 of 17MB. I have tried several of the mirror sites to no avail. I have interrupted and restarted numerous times. I have accessed the download through links on the Adaware site and I have accessed the download directly on the mirror sites. I have made special exceptions for the download on Symantec Firewall and on Freesurfer, in case popups need to be enabled. A couple of times the download file has an incomplete shortcut on my desktop, and when clicking, windows puts up a message that the incomplete file is not a valid 32 bit program, or something like that. I have also experienced apparent disconnects on my wireless network. I do not know if this is related. What I usually do is pull the wireless usb adapter out of its mount and replug it. This seems to refresh the connection. There are no indications that the router is malfunctioning. |

Re: Adaware2007 cannot complete download
Hi,
Does this occur with other Downloads? It is possible that a virus or a form of spyware can be stopping your downloads. I would do a virus and all the other scan's that you can to see if anything is lurching about in your system. If you try the scan's first and then let us know. Jay. |

Re: Adaware2007 cannot complete download
Yes, I had this problem with the download in IE, Fx and Opera. After a few attempts I just switched to Opera and the 3rd attempt gave me a full working download.
Clear your browser cache/cookies before downloading, and see if that helps. |

Re: Adaware2007 cannot complete download
I ran scans with Norton AV, Adaware SE with latest update, Spybot SD with latest updates, and AVG anti-spyware with shield and latest updates. No reports on anything unusual.
For this session, I repeatedly disconnected and reconnected the USB wireless adapter and quickly typed in the url. I always clear the cache on both IE and Firefox. I could not see anything unusual in a HijackThis log. The answer to the question whether this happens with other downloads is no, since I did download some GIMP files without any trouble. |

OK. Try downloading from here and don't be downloading/uploading with any other tabs or background processes when you attempt it: http://www.download.com/Ad-Aware-200...bj=dl&tag=top5
Click the "Download Now" link. The program is attaining many download hits, thus available bandwidth is very low. |
