Computer Date automatically set to Back Date.

Hello,
I noticed today that most of the programs in my computer are showing error message, i wondered and uninstalled some of them, and again some others have same problem, finally I noticed dthat the date of computer is set to back date 1966. t I did set it back but when i restart my computer it automatically goes back to 1966 again, what may be the reason, how can i solve this problem and could it be some viruses and security threat, is my computer already infected, how to get rid of that?
Thanks a lot in advance.

Do you just restart or do you shut down? The first place to look would be at the battary on your mobo. Also if thats not a fix for it please scan your computer for malware/viruses using adaware/ccleaner/sweepi/spybot search and destroy/avg or avast and let us know if this continues after that.

I noticed it today and it happens whether i restart or shut down and start again. I was busy so could not perform online scan before, now after i am going to scan computer and will post the result later on, I will use spybot and other antimalware programs and wil try to scan using panda active scan.
Thanks.
Its really screwing my computer. The main error message before was from MaCafee Site advisor, i just uninstalled that program but still date is same to back 1966.

Also get into your bios can be any key from the f2 f8 f12 or del and once in there ensure the date is correct it may be resetting its self from the bios. Also if this is the case this tends to indicate an either dead of dying cmos battary...
