No Recongnition

June 25, 2007

Hello There,

I have been having a problem with sluggishness for a few months, and getting on line with banking matters more recently. The banks will not allow me access to my accounts online. Site Advisor has not been working properly on IE. I noticed, when obsessively looking for a culprit, an icon in a C drive folder that resembled a “Panda” icon, poorly reproduced. It turned out to be an “isuninst” file. I wiped it, and I am hoping that all of it is out of my machine. Nothing has been showing on Hijackthis logs. All anti malware scans, both online and the scans on my machine have been coming clean in normal and safe mode, save a few cookies. I have also set Avast to run at startup for the past few days, clean. I was also redirected last evening when I tried to access a bank web site to a “google” search site, and error pages.

Now I see that I am not being recognized by most web sites that I visit regularly. I may not be able to get back here, as even when I try to re register under a different ID, I am not able to gain access to web sites.

OS – Windows xp Home, version 2002 Service Pack 2, Gateway FX510S
Processor – Intel Pentium D, 3000MHz
Memory – 2560 MB

Using IE 6, all cookies and temp files cleared

Fire Wall – Zone Alarm
Anti virus – Avast – updated.

Anti Spy – AVG, Spy Bot S&D, Ad-Aware SE,
Recently downloaded SuperAntiSpyware Free – updated.

Browser Helpers – Mcafee SiteAdvisor, SpywareBlaster, SpywareGuard, and GMail – all updated.

RootKit- AVG Anti-Rootkit Free. – updated.

I downloaded and ran Mcafee AVERT Stinger (the first choice), and ran it through C, D, and E. It looks clean.

I went to MS updates, and found that two components of installer were missing (never a problem before).

Is it possible that there is also trojon some place in my files?

Hijack this “LOOKS CLEAN” to me:

Re: No Recongnition

Online banking is becoming very unsecure. I would advise you against it now, unless your network connection is encrypted and you're behind some firm protection.

What you're experiencing can normally occur with a hacked computer too.

There is another scanner (DSS) the security staff will need you to run and the logs to be posted in a format mentioned right here: http://www.techsupportforum.com/secu...sting-log.html

Follow those carefully please and post the logs in the appropriate HJT forum linked towards the end of it. Please be patient as the forum is very busy, and the analysts will assist you as soon as they can.
